Memorial Day Celebration Time again; thank GOD for veterans.

I, Gloria Poole, born in state of Georgia but residing in Missouri am "recycling" photos I photographed in yr 2012 at the air show in Missouri to celebrate Memorial Day. In first photo below guys in green are in U S Military but all people in these photos are unknown to me but it was a public exhibit so photos are ok.

 This is what I wrote in year 2012  to mark the occasion of Memorial Day in the U S for the U S Military:

The Fighting Men

by Gloria Poole

The fighting men 

who fought; 

some died.

Others left body parts

on foreign soil.

With weapon in hand;

and courage in heart,

they face the enemy,

sometimes eye to eye;

sometimes not.

At times, a rustling noise,

or the whizzzzz of a grenade

flying through the air with pin pulled

are the first clues

of enemy approach.

They put their lives on the line. 

At their duty stations,

they are sitting ducks.

and on their walkabout patrols.

The enemy watches too.

Watches for a lapse 

in faithfulness, or 

a split second in time

when the path is clear 

to lob a grenade; 

or put the X sight on the heart or head

of the watchman.

What does fear taste like?

A metallic dry mouth, so I am told.

What does fear smell like?

The smells of the battle:

of blood,smoke,fire,dirt,dust;

sometimes rain.

The fighting men;

who volunteer

for the life changing event

of U S Military, 

are men.

Not wimps.

Not sissies.

Not cry babies.

Not mama's boys.

but men.

Men,

who know that somebody's life 

might depend on them.

That maybe a whole lot of nobodys' lives

depend on them.

Men.

Men who learn 

a super diligence

to watch every movement;

assess the land quickly,

with an eye for an escape,

and a back up plan,

if the first plan fails.

Men, who know they 

must have backbones

like a steel beam.

Men who learn that when confronted

 with enemy combatant, they must not blink.

They know they may have only one

chance to save their own lives.

Men, who know they cannot risk 

the idle mind, or the wayward thoughts;

or the distractions of 

sound making devices;

or chatter.

Men, who know that every day 

could be their last on earth;

that their next breath

could produce blood;

that they could slip into eternity

via assassin's bullet.

The fighting men,

who with their lives

 secure the freedoms;

and underwrite the cause

 of the land of the free

 and the home of the brave.

We, the people, 

of the United States,

owe them a debt

 that cannot be paid, 

with mere money or perqs; 

but requires the heart 

of the nation, 

covering them with prayer. 

Making intercession to THE ALMIGHTY,

pleading for the innocent

before GOD,

the maker of all, 

on bended knees.

The Memorial day 

when wreaths are laid;

and speeches are given;

and fly-pasts occur;

to set aside a time 

to remember, to thank,

to adulate;

the fighting men.

This is my tribute of praise

to the fighting men

around the world; 

who daily recommit 

to the nation; 

to the First Amendment;

to civil liberties to live,

speak,protest;

that which is immoral; 

and injustice.

I salute you,

fighting men of the U S A

Southern Baptist Church band sketch by Gloria Poole of Missouri and Georgia; 11-April-2014 ; acrylic paint on paper.

This sketch is the one I drew, re-drew parts of it, painted, signed and photographed and uploaded all today. I spent hours this morning trying to create a believable scene and several pretend people.  If you have ever been to Southern Baptist churches in U S, you know they almost always have a choir that has a Director who reads music and holds practices each week. And those that don't have a choir, usually have some sort of band ensemble to make a joyful noise. All age groups are welcome in the band usually but of course the choirs are a bit different because of late night practices at churches. 

Also, on the topic of Southern Baptist churches, I know they recently changed their name or added a moniker of the Great Commission Baptist from the scriptures in Matthew 28:18-20.  Of course, anyone who follows me on twitter, or reads the words I write on my blogs, knows that I am Southern Baptist Christian and a believer in THE LIVING LORD JESUS and The Holy Bible. I prefer the language of the King James Holy Bible.

This is the 5th sketch I have created of musical instruments. I sang in a church choir some as a teenager; and also in my high school chorus and went on tour with them. That was obviously long ago, but from both of those I learned to read music some, and to sing. I still love to sing and I love music that is not mere screaming and jumping around, but has words that make sense and tell a truth or that are written by someone who has suffered and come through that alive and with the ability to still praise GOD; or written to persuade people to think differently.  Music is an integral part of my life but I noticed that I tend to only listen to music when my mind is too exhausted to think and I am physically restless. It calms me somehow.

 And I put art I create on several blogs and usually I have a reason for selecting a particular blog at any given time. I do not conform my blogs but ceate them one by one, with original content. I love to draw and it also is soothing to me. Unless I am very exhausted, in which case, my sketches look awful and I have to re-do them later.

I think the criminal who stole my GA ID and my Holy Bible with my name printed on it, cut my photo out of the ID and inserted his accomplice's photo which is how it was used to access bank and credit union accounts of mine that began in Colorado. I lived in Colorado only a few yrs and was married a second time there for only 4 yrs and ten months before final decree of divorce from male DBP there. both divorces of mine are public record--one in Georgia and one in Colorado. I moved to Missouri on Oct 31, 2009 to the same apt I am creating this blog from, which is my only residence.

 I have NEVER had blond hair even as a tiny child. Both of my daughters were very blond up until college, but their hair is also darker more like mine now. But I know for certain that one of the accomplices of DBP who lives in Colorado dyes her hair a platinum [false looking] blond because she's old and gray- headed if hair not dyed blond. That is a statement of fact relevant to an on-going investigation into who is using my name and identity. I have been reported as blond yet I have NEVER been blond and NEVER dyed my hair. If you see my selfie from 15-March-2014 on about me page, you see the slight grey tendrils at my temples in my brown hair. I reason I earned them! And I'm keeping them.

Also, statement of fact: I am not subject to censorship or employer laws. I am a private  US citizen by birth and draw, paint, photograph, blog, and tweet from my own private apartment. I always sign the art I create unless I have not finished it and plan to re-draw it or re-paint it.  I do not have not for profit and never did. Magnolia sketch number 4 and pencil drawing by Gloria Poole of Missouri and Georgia

I, Gloria Poole, of Missouri and Georgia, am putting two new sketches I completed today on this blog of mine. I tweeted yesterday that I was attempting to sketch again a magnolia blossom. They are one of my favorite flowers and the magnolia tree in full bloom is one of GOD's most awesome experiences because the blooms smell wonderful.  I have tried several times to draw and paint magnolias. It is not easy for me to do. The petals are sort of waxy looking and a cream color. So far, I have not accomplished it my satisfaction but this is my most recent attempt. Michelango the famous artist who painted the Sistine Chapel ceiling [I am not catholic but know of most major artists' works] in his life story said that if you draw an object or image one hundred times you get good at it. This second sketch is a pencil drawing on paper that I drew as a rough draft preliminary sketch of an idea. I am adding it here because I always draw free-hand and sometimes I refine the sketches and sometimes I paint them and photograph them and upload them. The Leonine life sketch by Gloria Poole of Missouri and Georgia.

"The Leonine life" sketch by Gloria Poole of Missouri & Georgia on 12-March-2014.    Leonine means "strong, fierce, majestic" according to dictionary. 

For those of you who have no education in health professions, the black graphic at bottom is a drawn electrocardiagram to diagram the resting phase, the spark from the SA node  and then the  contraction of the left ventricle of the heart. In other words, a heartbeat as shown on paper according to the electrical activity of a beating heart.  The star at head indicates a living, thinking brain.

Also, this is not a shared apartment nor a shared blog, nor a shared isp acct  and I do not take messages for my 2nd exhusband. I do not communicate with him and he was never authorized on any web-hosting acct of mine nor on any email of mine.  If he stalks me on web, he will go to prison hopefully.
