This is the repeating pattern abstract I drew and painted trying to replicate on paper what I saw in a fabric. It is not as pretty as the fabric was however, because I got the diagonals lop-sided a bit. But anyway, here is it, for world to view. I keep practicing to improve. I love to look at the tweets from Museums but sometimes the art they tweet is so beautiful, that it discourages me, because I think to myself, "I will never be that good an artist'. But then I have a serious talk with myself and remind myself that making art is something that can be learned and that if I keep on keeping on, I will become what is called a a "master Artist". So, this sketch is a reaction to a tweet the other day about beautiful fabrics. So, I tried to draw a similar but not a copy of their design. This is on 9 x 12 inch paper and is created with inktense, then washed over with a brush to make it permanent, except the background is acrylic. I made this signed it photographed it uploaded it and posted it to this blog of mine, today 5th Oct. In fact, I followed the same steps for all art on this blog: I made it, signed it, photographed it, uploaded it and posted ALL art on this blog. Copyrighted.
This sketch is another sketch for my ethnic series [#ethnicseries] that I began in year 2006 when I lived in Aurora, Colorado, but I divorced a second time in Oct 2007 after 4 horrible and injurious years of marriage,and resumed my full maiden name including my surname of Poole, and moved to Missouri in Oct 2009. I continue to paint the ethnic series intermittently. I made a sketch of a Norwegian for that ethnic series and posted it to my http://gloriapoole.livejournal.com, a few days ago. Also, I made another ethnic series sketch this afternoon and I might post it later. This sketch is intended to resemble a Navajo Indian,but this is not a sketch of a living person. I drew the image of it from the buffalo nickel but modified it some. The Navajo are a native American tribe from the southwest United States. Copyrighted. This is also on 9 x 12 paper and I made this sketch by drawing it with graphite, "painting" in the face with coloursoft pencils for portraits as underpainting, then put soft pastels over the face as a second layer. I painted the hair with inktense and then put a wash of water stroke by stroke with a wet brush.
